What Is Wealthy Affiliate?
Here’s a list I’ve compiled directly from their sales page…this includes all their benefits. Beside each benefit, I give you my realistic evaluation of each benefit…and what you can actually expect.
Please understand that I’m an honest guy and I don’t like to sugar coat stuff….so read this only if you can handle the truth.
- WA Forum
Okay, so this is probably their best benefit since they have been in business for a long time, and they usually have a lot of members…but I’m sure this will soon fizzle out since they jacked their price up to $97. - Monthly Niche Reports
I cannot comment on this since I never tried these. - Online Website Builder
I have to be honest here, this is nothing more than a super boring html template that creates a static site. The days of using static html sites are LONG done….so this is nothing but useless perk. If you want to build a website, you can build a WordPress site in 30 seconds, and it is a dynamic site that can easily be updated and used for years to come. - Free Web Hosting
This is nice, but I haven’t used it so I can’t comment on how it works. However, typically, when people offer free hosting as a benefit, it basically means they just buy a reseller hosting plan from companies like HostGator and resell it to you. I personally would never use this because when I buy hosting, I want to buy it directly from someone who is IN THE BUSINESS of hosting and has a full staff of customer service reps. that can be contacted when a server goes down. The last thing I want is for my site to be down…and I have to go through 3 party support to get help. – not cool. - Link Cloaking/Tracking System
I cannot comment on this since I’ve never tried it….but there are a lot of free link cloaking/tracking sites out there, so in reality, this isn’t worth much to me. - Keyword Research Software
This is very nice…but again, you can get the same thing for free by going to Google and searching for “Google Keyword tool” - Top Affiliate Program Finder
Again, it sounds nice….but you can go to ClickBank and click on the most popular products and find the same thing within a few short minutes for free. - Pre-Built Website Templates
As near as I can tell, these are just turn-key feeder sites….where you enter your affiliate ID, a dynamic page is generated with your affiliate ID’s, they generate page for you…and you promote it with their URL (it is hosted by them). You are not in control of the content, just your aff. ID. - Optimized Keyword Lists
I honestly never tried these so I can’t tell you yea or nay. I’m guessing they are probably just a keyword list generated for a specific product that they want you to promote for them. - Ad Competition Spy Tool
Now this is pretty cool…and is a very nice benefit. - Keyword / Adwords Tools
It’s nice that they have this inside the members area….but honestly, you can get the exact same thing by googling “Google Keyword Tool” for Adwords that can be accessed for free. - Content Management Tool
I’m not sure what they mean by this…but I would assume that this is their internal planner/organizer where members can set goals, and use it as checklist to get things done. - 400+ Tutorials & Guides (added daily)
Most people just get overwhelmed with all this info and never get started…..there is just too much info covering such a broad area of marketing, it’s hard to know where to start. - 50+ Training Videos (added weekly)
Videos are in – bigtime, so this is very nice benefit for those who prefer visual learning styles. - Personal 1-on-1 Mentoring / Training
Honestly, with only Kyle and Carson as the owners…it’s basically impossible for them to do this and keep up with the demand, so I’m not sure what they mean by this.
All in all, it looks like a no-brainer…until you look at the cost to join. At $97 per mo…it’s really hard to justify this. (at least it was for me)  Especially if you are looking for a positive ROI within a few months. It probably won’t happen.  Personally, I’d rather focus on one or two methods that work….rather than just a plethora of information.
If you want something similar for a fraction of the cost, then I recommend the Affiliate Power Group
They have a similar community inside…except they have 5 people on staff, instead of just 2. So you have a better chance of getting some personal attention. Plus they have a $1 trial for 10 days…so you can try it out and see if you like it without must cost.  And if you decide it is worth jumping on board with, it is just $39.95 per month to become a member of Affiliate Power Group. (they also have quarterly, and annual plans available)
